70th Anniversary of Hiroshima and Nagasaki to be Marked Aug. 6 with Ceremony at Otan Ana Monument in Astana

The Federation of Judo Veterans of Astana, The ATOM Project and other organisations will mark the 70th anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and memorialise the victims with an Aug. 6 ceremony on the Square of the Defenders of the Motherland in Astana.
The events will begin at 10 a.m. and take place next to theOtan Ana Monument and will include a wreathlaying ceremony on the Otan Ana Memorial, a dove release involving the children of the Zhan Arystan Astana group and youth performances.
Representatives of the Japanese Embassy in Kazakhstan, the Council of Veterans of Astana, the Zhan Arystan Astana Experimental Group represented bychildren- peers of the capital, children from Sulu Ai kindergarten, the Oner Educational and Creative Centre in Kosshy village, as well as veterans and students of the Astana Judo Federation are expected to attend.
In addition to the Federation of Judo Veterans of Astana and The ATOM Project, the event is being organised by the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, the akimat (city administration) of Astana, the city Maslikhat, the akimat of the Almaty district of the city, the National Archives of Kazakhstan, the Central Council of Kazakh Veterans of the Judo Federation and the Judo Federation of Astana.
